Abstract

The AMANDA neutrino telescope and its successor IceCube are situated at the South Pole, 2 km below the surface. Their main scientific purpose is to detect neutrino radiation from cosmic accelerators. AMANDA and IceCube are also being used in the search for dark matter and exotic particles: magnetic monopoles and Q-balls. The latest results from the exotic particle search will be presented. The handling of data artefacts induced by electromagnetic waves and other disturbances will also be presented briefly.
