Abstract
Type II radio bursts are signatures of shock waves
in the solar corona and the interplanetary space.
Shock waves are able to accelerate particles up
to high energies as seen as solar energetic particles
(SEP). SEPs can influence our Earth's environment
as usually called Space Weather. Therefore, the
formation of shocks in the solar corona and the
near-Sun interplanetary space are of special interest
in the solar-terrestrial relationship. Such shocks
can be observed by radio techniques.
