Abstract

An overview of IBM Research's new software framework for handling and analyzing streaming data will be presented. The ability of this software to run on nearly any hardware platform, including heterogeneous platforms, to autonomously monitor the workloads and tasks on each processor, to automatically parallelize tasks in various parts of the flow with minimal user programming, and to implement complex user algorithms in parts of the flow, make System S and its user-friendly programming model SPADE, an ideal platform for processing streams of digital radio astronomy data. System S and SPADE will be described, as will several research programs for its use.
