Numerical simulation of waves and turbulence in space plasma

Abstract

A numerical Vlasov-Maxwell model has been developed and is used to investigate the linear and nonlinear interactions between electromagnetic waves and space plasma. The numerical modelling is an important complement to purely theoretical investigations and to the remote sensing capabilities of LOIS and the in situ measurements by artificial satellites.

Examples of numerical results of linear and nonlinear phenomena will be given.
